Signs & Symptoms of FASD

FASD affects the brain and body. These can include physical, emotional, learning and developmental delays.

Physical signs and symptoms include:

  • Distinctive facial features (small eye openings, thin upper lip, smooth area between the mouth and nose called the philtrum, smaller than average head size)

  • Poor growth rate

  • Heart defects

  • Visual difficulties
